Unframed Art Print - John James Audubon - The Great Crow Blackbird (Now known as grackles)

This small painting of Boat-Tailed Grackles was acquired by one of the Gentling brothers in early 1985. It was painted by John James Audubon at Philadelphia in the spring of 1824. What makes this picture particularly important is that it is the very first Audubon painting ever to be published, and thus it occupies a particularly interesting place in Audubon's life history. It was also instrumental in the history of the Gentling Brothers.
