An original artwork by Kenna Boles Prior, a local Cedar Hill artist, and Dogwood Canyon's Artist in Residence 2024.
Photogravure (in French héliogravure) is a photo-mechanical process whereby a copper plate is grained (adding a pattern to the plate) and then coated with a light-sensitive gelatin tissue which had been exposed to a film positive, and then etched, resulting in a high quality intaglio plate that can reproduce detailed continuous tones of a photograph.
These photogravures are based on original drawings by Kenna that were inspired by nature at Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center.
The artwork is 8" x 10", is matted to 11" x 14", and framed. Exterior frame dimensions are approximately 13" x 16.25".
Numbered and signed by the artist. This item is numbered 12/13.
Note that colors may appear different in person due to photographing processes and settings in your viewing device.
