An original artwork by Kenna Boles Prior, a local Cedar Hill artist, and Dogwood Canyon's Artist in Residence 2024.
Photogravure (in French héliogravure) is a photo-mechanical process whereby a copper plate is grained (adding a pattern to the plate) and then coated with a light-sensitive gelatin tissue which had been exposed to a film positive, and then etched, resulting in a high quality intaglio plate that can reproduce detailed continuous tones of a photograph.
These photogravures are based on original drawings by Kenna that were inspired by nature at Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center.
The artwork is 8" x 10" on 10.25" x 13" paper. This is a maker's second. Seconds are pieces that are not up to the artist's standards for a myriad of reasons. Still beautiful, they are discounted and made available for sale.
Numbered and signed by the artist. This item is numbered 10/13.
Note that colors may appear different in person due to photographing processes and settings in your viewing device.
These are originals. Once an item is sold, it will not be restocked.
Items are displayed with watermarks. Watermark will not be present on original artwork.
Stored and shipped in a protective plastic sleeve. No matting or frame included.
As a consignment item, not eligible for discounts.
